Healthcare for the 21st century requires creative planning for new and innovative program delivery.

Healthcare needs in the 21st century have created the opportunity for healthcare professionals to study, research and apply new and innovative processes for care. The traditional approaches to medicine and the delivery of care are fast becoming irrelevant, hence there must be an effort to keep pace with the changing times.

Patients are demanding more nontraditional approaches to healthcare and are becoming more receptive to efforts that place emphasis on their responsibility to lead healthy lives.

The introduction of technology such as monitoring devices has provided patients and their doctors with a mechanism for instant awareness of pending medical conditions and thus allow early interventions. However, it becomes the responsibility of the healthcare practitioners to embrace this technology and have it become inculcated in their care plan.
